IMBA QGIBA CAMPAIGN
Proposal: IMBA GQIBA CAMPAIGN - Empowering Traditional Healers for Beach Conservation
To: UMhlathuze Municipality
We propose the IMBA GQIBA CAMPAIGN, a traditional healer-led initiative promoting beach conservation and sustainability in Richards Bay.
Objectives:
1. Promote responsible ritual practices: Traditional healers will clean up after rituals, disposing of waste in designated holes.
2. Educate on beach bylaws: Healers will understand and comply with regulations.
3. Enhance water safety: Healers will receive training to ensure their safety and set an example.
4. Foster eco-friendly businesses: Healers will receive training to start legitimate businesses, reducing scams and promoting sustainability.
Implementation:
1. Collaborate with traditional healer associations and local authorities.
2. Conduct workshops on beach bylaws, water safety, and business skills.
3. Provide resources for waste disposal and beach cleaning.
4. Monitor and evaluate campaign progress.
Benefits:
1. Cleaner beaches and ocean.
2. Empowered traditional healers with skills and knowledge.
3. Reduced scams and unsustainable practices.
4. Promotion of eco-tourism and responsible traditional practices.
We believe this initiative aligns with UMhlathuze Municipality's environmental goals and would love to discuss further as we plan to have this compaign annual.
